Built-in Fireplaces

A built-in fireplace refers to a firebox that is built into a purpose built or existing (retrofit) open fireplace / hearth.

We refer to built-in (i.e. some building work is required) or inserts (i.e. we remove and replace and existing firebox). Either built-in or inserts are specifically designed to minimise heat loss to the surrounding masonry, and heat is instead reflected back into the room.

Some models incorporate a fan to force warm air into the living space and further decrease heat loss. In some instances we can fit ducts and this secondary flow of heated air can be directed to other parts of your home. We offer state-of-the-art thermostatic controls which can be used to aid convection and quickly distribute heat throughout your home.

Floor space is not impeded as the fireplace is built into the existing hearth in your home or into a wall. The end result is a flush, framed, wall feature that blends into the surrounding decor without getting in the way. Our built-in range offers one-sided, double, three and four-sided models providing optimised heat flow and great views of the fire.

If you don’t have a pre-existing infrastructure or hearth, you’ll need a qualified fireplace installer and builder to create a surround for your built-in fireplace.
